The opening ceremony of the exhibition "Colors and Patterns: The Journey to Iranian Art" took place at the Hanoi Museum on August 23, 2024. The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Vietnam organised the Exhibition in collaboration with the Hanoi Museum to celebrate the 51st anniversary of Vietnam-Iran diplomatic relations.

The elephant spout bronze kettle is a rare, almost unique artefact kept at the Hanoi Museum metal warehouse, a valuable historical source of bronze casting art with a unique design compared to traditional bronze kettles. With embossed decorations, the mascot is unique and full of aesthetic qualities, demonstrating creativity in Vietnamese folk art.

On the morning of April 18, 2024, Hanoi Museum opened the exhibition "Echoes from the past" in honour of the Hung Kings' commemoration anniversary 2024 and the 100th anniversary of Dong Son culture research in Vietnam. This exhibition introduces nearly 100 precious artefacts, images, and documents from over 2,000 years ago of our nation from the dynasty of the Hung Kings with the most brilliantly developed Dong Son culture in the nation's history. 

WORKSHOP "THE DRAGON IMAGE IN EASTERN AESTHETICS"

On March 11, 2024, the Hanoi Museum, in collaboration with the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts (Hanoi National University), organized a workshop, "Dragon image in Eastern aesthetics". The seminar was part of the exhibition "Telling Dragon Stories in the Year of the Dragon," which introduced more than 100 documents and artefacts that clarified the dragon symbol in religious and belief architecture through the Hanoi Museum's collection of artefacts. The collection also includes dragons in contemporary fine arts, expressed through craft village products and unique handicraft products.

INDOCHINA FINE ARTS WORKS AT THE HANOI MUSEUM

Fine Art, originating in prehistoric and early historical times, has always closely followed the nation's building and national defence process. Fine Art is one of the first art disciplines that prove the nation's cultural heritage, such as the carvings on the cliffs of Dong Noi cave over 10,000 years ago, belonging to the Hoa Binh culture and the carvings on bronze drums belonging to the Dong Son culture (especially the Ngoc Lu bronze drums) dating back 2500 -2000 years.

A Summoning Tablet is the common name for a group of unique items issued by the royalty during the Le Dynasty; there are different tablet classifications depending on the material used to make the Tablet: Kim bai (gold Tablet), Ngan bai (silver Tablet), Moc bai (wooden Tablet), Thach bai (stone Tablet). Each Tablet within a tablet classification has a different function: Tin bai (token Tablet) and Lenh bai (task assignment Tablet).

BROWN PATTERNED VASE OF THE TRAN DYNASTY

The Hanoi Museum preserves a large quantity of Tran Dynasty ceramics of various styles. The number of brown patterned ceramics is smaller than that of celadon and white-glazed ceramics, but they have many unique features. Amongst these ceramics, the brown-patterned flower vase with the registration number BTHN 1500 is impressive.
