THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE 2023 NATIONAL PRESS FESTIVAL

 

            On the morning of March 17th, the National Press Festival: "Solidarity - Professionalism - Culture - Creativity" was opened at the Hanoi Museum. The three-day event was co-chaired by the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Hanoi People’s Committee in coordination with the Commission of Popularisation and Education, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.            

Attending the ceremony were the Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission of Popularisation and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia and members of the Party Central Committee: Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan; Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung; Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of Mass Mobilization Pham Tat Thang; Deputy Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission of Popularisation and Education, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh; representatives of leaders of ministries, central agencies and Hanoi city, Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports; leaders of press agencies, reporters, editors and the general public.            

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan; Deputy Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission of Popularisation and Education, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Newspaper and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh attended the opening ceremony of the 2023 National Press Festival.

            Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission of Popularisation and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the 2023 National Press Festival is the largest press event to be held in the country - an activity that is rich in political significance and of social, cultural and intellectual importance - which animates and enriches journalistic life to create an atmosphere of competition between press agencies and journalists nationwide. The event contributes to improving overall professionalism including political bravery, professional qualifications and professional ethics of journalists therefore improving the quality and efficiency of journalistic activities.

Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission of Popularisation and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia spoke at the ceremony.

            The 2023 National Press Festival was held over 3 days, from March 17th to 19th, and included 87 booths with the participation of 63 provincial and municipal Journalists Associations, 60 central and local press agencies. 

          In addition to the presentation booth displays, the 2023 National Press Festival offered specialized, professional workshops and seminars to enhance the cultural value of the Festival. The "National Press A Prize Reunion” - a workshop on “A.I and content creation management in the newsroom” - the Launching Ceremony of the Press Award for Communications on Economics and Efficient Use of Energy in 2023, "Creative Youth - proactive in Digital Transformation" seminar and "Training and fostering journalism skills according to demand” seminar.

            Within the framework of the Press Festival, Hanoi Museum organizes exhibitions on the following topics:

- Traditional Hanoi Pho including Pho experience activities

- Displaying products and demonstrating the craft of Me Tri Com

- Displaying and experiencing the craft of making Chuong Hats

- Display of creative handicraft products of Vun Art: the experience of making pictures with rags

- Demonstration of Han Nom calligraphy.
