As part of a series of events to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Capital's Liberation, on the morning of October 8, the Hanoi Museum, in collaboration with the Thang Long - Hanoi Antiquities Association, organized the opening of an antique exhibition with the theme "Red River Civilization entering Hanoi Streets".

On October 4, the "Socio-economic and cultural achievements of Hanoi over the past 70 Years" exhibition opened at Hanoi Museum. Attending the opening ceremony were delegates from ministries, branches and central agencies, leaders of the City Party Committee, the People's Council, the People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, along with representatives of departments, branches, districts, towns, research institutes, universities, international organizations, businesses, experts and scientists.

The Tree Planting festival, launched by Uncle Ho in the spring of 1959, has continued for over 60 years and is beloved by people in all parts of the country. Every year, when spring comes, people and governments everywhere organize a tree-planting festival according to Uncle Ho's will.

Currently, the Hanoi Museum is home to 2 anchors donated by Mr. Quach Van Dich in 2017. The anchors are made of wood, large in size and dating from the 16th to 17th century.

On the occasion of the 133rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023), on May 18, 2023, the Hanoi Museum held the opening of two special exhibitions: "Uncle Ho and Hanoi" and the Art Space "Lotus Calligraphy".

On January 30th, 2023, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision No. 41/QD-TTg recognizing 27 national treasures (phase 11, 2022). These include the weapons collection of Giang Vo Military School, dating back to 15th - 17th centuries and which are conserved at the Hanoi Museum.
